5 star toilet in thailand

Today's post is about thailand. We have spent a decent amount of time in thailand. i would say approximately 5 months of time during various trips to south east asia. There are MANY MANY kinds of toilets in thailand.  They range from your regular 'western-ish' toilet, to the basic squat, to the stand on squat. To see pictures from 2011 Songrkan in Bangkok check out my other blog.

The mention stand on squatter. Just when i thought i had gotten the hang of the squat, i came across this beauty at the bus station in Hat Yai. This one is pretty precarious, it's always slight damp in these bathrooms, as you have to use a bucket to dump water into the bowl to flush.

I was pretty impressed when i saw this sign for a 5 star bathroom at the national library in thailand, the picture below is the 5 star bathroom.
the elusive 5 start toilet in asia. It held up to it's promise, it had been cleaned right before i entered. There was a door with a working lock, toilet paper, a toilet seat, and a sink with soap to wash your hands.
